Oh, it’s a coveted one, I’ll tell you that much! Even though I have no idea if I’m ever going to bring more Tub Talk with Sara B.episodes to the Inter-worlds.
So check it: I’d been thinking about buying Sloane Crosley’s hawt hawt new humorous essay book compendium tome I Was Told There’d Be Cake, mostly because Gawker kept mentioning in a non-mean way, which struck me as noteworthy (they generally only mention authors, especially young New York-based ones, if they’re roundly criticizing them).
I walked into a bookshop tonight to get inspiration, because nothing inspires me to write like seeing shit-tons of books stacked up everywhere in a retail environment, and Crosley’s book was prominently displayed. I flipped it over to check the back, and found to my surprise that not one, but two guests of my very own bathtub-based Internet talk show had endorsed the book! Both Mr. Andy Borowitz and Mr. Jonathan Ames wrote very nice things about the book, things which were reproduced on the back of the book. So I bought it, and I’m gonna read it, and I’ll write more about it after I know how much I like it. I really want to like it!
I bought the book a few weeks ago. Haven’t worked through it.
It’s pleasant, but I’d much prefer a SaraB book.
Sloane is TOTALLY good-looking in her photo, tho.
And I recognized your tub-talker quoters immediately. Still, the book is just….okay.
Hmmm. I agree that she looks bonkers cute in the photo, but I must reserve full judgment of le book itself til I read through it.
I also would like a Sara B. book
Yes, she’s hella cute but the book is crazy funny! I laughed out loud for more of it than not.
