It’s been a long and glorious journey, one that Diana and I have taken along with trusty camera dude Francesco Marciuliano and frequent lighting specialist/food-provider/morale-booster Sam Weston. The wonderful Ces and marvelous Sam also provided great suggestions and encouragement, so I must here salute them, too.
UPDATE: Must add a specific thanks to Ces Marciuliano for putting up with me staying up all night editing all the time, keeping the lights on in our studio when he surely would have preferred them off, constantly posting all of our press at http://www.medium-large.com, and for being the ultimate guerilla cameraman and co-improviser when we did vlog #20 for 23/6, in Berlin! He is a rock star, and my hat is off to him.
Ultimately, I have to give so much of the credit to Diana, who got off many of the funniest lines (some of which I just plain jacked) and whose reactions were, in general, priceless. In editing 41 of these videos over the past nine weeks (2 haven’t yet made it to to public eye–not sure if they’ll go up on 23/6 this week or if we’ll end up putting them up–we have 2 others in the ’80s flashback cycle), I’ve spent a lot of time staring at my hetero comedy lifemate’s face, and her talent is quite awesome to behold. She’s responsible for “Bristol, go breastfeed your brother!” and many other gems.

This was the night we met Wes Craven, when Diana told him thanks but no thanks for creating Freddie Kruger and haunting her childhood nightmares.
First, thank you SO SO SO MUCH to Mark Day of YouTube for featuring us and for being hilarious.
Thanks to the incredible team at 23/6 for taking a ragtag couple of ladycomics and giving us an extraordinary creative platform (and money! Thank you for that!)
Thanks especially to Jim Newell at Wonkette and Dennis DiClaudio for Comedy Central Indecision 2008 for being early adopters (Wonkette had it up a day after we first posted on YouTube, and Dennis posted several of our early ones. Also, he rocks ass in general, just FYI). Huge thanks also to Jeanne Moos at CNN, Brian Braiker (formerly of Newsweek.com, now at Rolling Stone! Congrats!), Judith Warner at the NY Times, Luchina Fisher at ABCNews.com, Amy Plitt at Time Out New York, Ben Smith at Politico, Sini Virtanen of the Finnish Broadcasting Company, Brenda Price and the gang on “Josh Cohen and the Hometeam” 94.3 WZZR in South Florida, Johannes and Stefanie and Denise and Mark at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin, Derrick Ashong, Baratunde Thurston and the gang at Jack and Jill Politics, Elon James White, Kim Hastreiter at Paper Mag. Thanks to MTV News for a recent blog shout-out. Thank you to Anne Altman of “Two Can Anne.” Thank you to Carolyn Castiglia for so many things. Thank you to Eliot Glazer, Urlesque, Buzzfeed, Annie Mebane Rocheleau, and Catie Lazarus.
Special thanks to publicists extraordinaire Kambri Crews (authoress with the mostest!), Hillary Buckholtz (somebody acquire this woman in NYC, she’s a PR genius!), and Ryan McCormick (he who makes the Comic Strip go boom!) Thanks to bloggers Nate Sloan of The Apiary and Sean L. McCarthy of The Comic’s Comic.
Thank you to Rocky Benloulou-Dubin at Comix for letting us have so much fun with Hedda Lettuce!
Ooshy gooshy comedy nerd thanks go to Margaret Cho and Keri Smith Esguia and Emily White of Whitesmith Entertainment, and also to Michael Schulman and Rhonda Sherman of the New Yorker Festival, all of whom collectively gave us The Greatest Weekend of Our Lives (wherein we got to geek out in a major comedy way.)
Thank you to Teresa Bass at the PIT for linking to our stuff on the PIT’s homepage.
I know I have forgotten to say thanks to some people to whom I owe major gracias, so feel free to call me out in the comments.
And most of all…THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO WATCHED, POSTED, REPOSTED, COMMENTED, AND GENERALLY MADE US FEEL SO GLORIOUSLY HAPPY!
Also, have we mentioned that our God is an Awesome God?
UPDATE: HOW THE FUCK DID I FORGET SCOTT BATEMAN AT SALON.COM?! He animated us! He made us cartoons! That was the coolest fucking thing ever! THANK YOU SCOTT!
why didn’t you guys ever use the prank phone call that Palin got from those people in Quebec as material? That was the coolest thing that she did during the election. Especially the part where the fake sarkozy was talking about shooting animals from helicopters and saying “oohhhh that’s so much fun” and then just laughed at it.
I laughed. I cried. I vomited.
that was definitely the most fucked up political satire i have ever seen..or ever will see..ever. but it was definitely one of the best you guys have done. major major major kudos. here’s to 2012.
Thank you, guys. These comments warm my heart.
Hi Andrew! We didn’t do it for a couple reasons. One, we just had to pick and choose with limited time, and two, I think that in and of itself is brilliant political humor, and I wouldn’t want to try and bite their style…because they nailed it so amazingly.
A little off-topic: were any of y’all moved by McCain’s concession speech? I mean, how sad that the only time he sounded genuine, impassioned and fairly cool was giving that speech? And how he gestured angrily for the Republican asshats to SHUT THE FUCK UP(when they booed Obama’s name). Made me feel bad for him. Then I got over it…
Oh, god. Don’t stop now. Doncha stop, doncha stop, doncha stop, please baby please, feel so good, don’t stop, don’t stop…..warrrhgghhhh
